DescriptionThe whole story▼
Developed from real-world WorldSBK data gathered by the Kawasaki Racing Team, the Puig Downforce Sport Winglets (part 3163) bring genuine circuit-proven aerodynamic technology to your Suzuki GSX-R 600/750 (2011–2016). Generating up to 6 kg of downforce, they raise the safety ceiling at high speed by keeping the front wheel planted and the chassis stable where it matters most.
Key Features
- Up to 6 kg of measurable downforce improves traction and chassis balance at track speeds.
- Reduces shimmy and lateral oscillation, delivering a noticeably calmer, safer handling character during fast direction changes.
- Anti-wheelie effect keeps the front wheel in contact with the tarmac under hard acceleration, enabling more consistent power delivery.
- Aerodynamic profile developed directly from Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK test data — race knowledge translated into a bolt-on fitment.
- Available in black or red to complement the GSX-R's aggressive styling.
- Robust construction engineered for the demanding thermal and mechanical environment of track use.
Race-Bred Engineering
These winglets are not a cosmetic addition. Puig designed part 3163 around the aerodynamic principles validated in the WorldSBK paddock, where stability at racing speeds directly affects rider safety and lap consistency. The downforce generated acts on the front end of the GSX-R 600/750, countering the natural lift that builds above motorway speeds and reaching its full effect at circuit pace. The result is a front axle that tracks more predictably through high-speed corners and braking zones, giving the rider a more confident and controlled experience.
Shimmy Suppression and Anti-Wheelie
High-speed shimmy — the rapid side-to-side oscillation that can develop through a fast straight or after a crest — is significantly reduced by the aerodynamic loading these winglets apply to the front end. Combined with their anti-wheelie characteristic, which resists front-wheel lift under aggressive acceleration out of slow corners, they make the GSX-R a more manageable and safer machine throughout a full track session.
Race Use Only
Puig specifies part 3163 for track use only. The winglets are optimised for the speed ranges encountered on circuit and are not intended for road registration. Always fit and use these winglets in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the regulations of your race or trackday organiser.
