DescriptionThe whole story▼
Support ring 50.2/56.7/1.2, Öhlins part number 05216-04. Bushings take the side load so the seal only has to seal.

What It Is
Dimensionally this is 50.2 mm, 56.7 mm, 1.2 mm, which is how it is told apart from the rest of the range. Bushings carry the side load in a damper or fork and keep the moving parts concentric. Inner and outer diameter both matter; a bushing that is a little loose does more damage than none at all. Play at the bushing shows up as a knock over sharp bumps.
Why the Original
Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier.
Getting the Number Right
Part number 05216-04 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. Öhlins states inner diameter 50.2 mm, outer diameter 56.7 mm, length 1.2 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. A worn bushing lets the shaft move off centre, and the seal is the next thing to fail. Öhlins uses PTFE-coated bushings for a low breakaway force.
Fitting and Setup Service
We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.
