Circlips are single-use in practice: once sprung, they no longer hold their groove reliably. Shoulder screws set a clearance as well as clamping, which is why the length is exact. Fasteners in a damper see pressure, heat and vibration at the same time, which is why the grade matters.

Why the Original

An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute.

Identifying the Right Part

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 00683-03. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Thread size and length identify the fastener; substituting a hardware-store equivalent is not sensible in a pressurised damper. Öhlins lists these individually because a service usually needs a handful of them.

Fitting and Setup Service

Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00683-03

Category: Screws

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00683-03_ca49c2ee-4707-4bb7-aca8-590e5420440e.png?v=1788872729
