Free length and inner diameter decide fit; the rate decides behaviour. A settled spring lowers the machine and steepens the steering without anyone changing a setting. Öhlins winds, heat-sets and measures each spring, so the rate on the label is the rate fitted.

Original Öhlins Part

Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. Rebuilding to specification only works if the parts are to specification — that starts here. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order.

Identifying the Right Part

Part number 05281-20 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. dimension a 57 mm, dimension b 81 mm, dimension c 17.5 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Springs are a service part: they age, they settle, and replacing them restores the geometry. Rates are offered in steps so a change can be made in one direction at a time.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 05281-20

Category: Springs

Dimension A: 57 mm

Dimension B: 81 mm

Dimension C: 17.5 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/05281-20_55d4349e-64d6-4a2e-9790-ba2c847ecb47.png?v=1788876518
