A spring that has settled in service sits shorter than new and quietly lowers the ride height.

Key Features

Length 15.5 mm

Original Öhlins service part

Rate 80 N/mm

Öhlins part number 06166-08

Where It Sits

There is no measurement to check here — the number and the exploded view identify it. Öhlins winds, heat-sets and measures each spring individually. Rates are offered in steps so a change can be made in one direction at a time. Öhlins measures each spring after setting rather than relying on the winding specification.

Why the Original

Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure: a wrong part in a pressurised unit is an expensive lesson. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue.

Identifying the Right Part

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 06166-08. Where no measurement is given, the drawing position is what identifies the part. Springs are a service part: they age, they settle, and replacing them restores the geometry. Öhlins winds, heat-sets and measures each spring, so the rate on the label is the rate fitted.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 06166-08

Category: Springs

Spring Rate: 80 N/mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/06166-08_817ecbb9-4eaf-46bf-a01c-a7dada0c5633.png?v=1788877530
