Function
Öhlins gives it as 8 mm, 13 mm, 10 mm; nothing about that is approximate. Circlips are single-use in practice: once sprung, they no longer hold their groove reliably. Öhlins lists these individually because a service usually needs a handful of them. Small parts are what hold a rebuild together — the wrong circlip or washer is enough to fail the job.

Öhlins supports its suspension with individual service parts, which is why a fifteen-year-old damper can still be rebuilt to specification. A damper that can be rebuilt is a damper that stays on the bike; that is the whole argument for original service parts. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on.

Part number 02254-01 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. The published dimensions are dimension a 8 mm, dimension b 13 mm, dimension c 10 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. These are the parts that are easy to lose on the bench and impossible to improvise afterwards. Öhlins publishes them in the exploded view so a workshop can order the whole position at once.
