DescriptionThe whole story▼
Shims 12/24/0.15, Öhlins part number 01115-24. A shim is a thin, ground steel washer, and the stack of them is what generates damping.
Key Features
- Inner Diameter 12 mm
- Outer Diameter 24 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
- Thickness 0.15 mm
- Öhlins part number 01115-24
Where It Sits
01115-24 is the 12 mm, 24 mm, 0.15 mm version — Öhlins lists each size separately. Two shims of the same thickness but different diameter give completely different curves. Suspension technicians keep these in stock by size because a revalve means changing several at once. Revalving means changing the stack, which is why Öhlins sells shims individually.
Genuine Service Part
Suspension is one of the few areas where the original part is genuinely the cheaper decision. Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue.
How to Be Sure It Fits
The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 01115-24 in this case. The published dimensions are inner diameter 12 mm, outer diameter 24 mm, thickness 0.15 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Öhlins stamps and grinds its shims to tolerances a general-purpose washer never holds. A worn or bent shim shows up as damping that has quietly drifted from the setting sheet.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
