DescriptionThe whole story▼
Screw M12x1.25x55, Öhlins part number 00439-16. Öhlins publishes them in the exploded view so a workshop can order the whole position at once.
Key Features
- Öhlins part number 00439-16
- Original Öhlins service part
- Thread M12x1.25
Where It Sits
Öhlins gives it as thread M12x1.25; nothing about that is approximate. Circlips hold axial position under load; a sprung one lets the assembly walk. Small parts are what hold a rebuild together — the wrong circlip or washer is enough to fail the job. Öhlins lists these individually because a service usually needs a handful of them.
Why the Original
A damper that can be rebuilt is a damper that stays on the bike; that is the whole argument for original service parts. Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation.
Identifying the Right Part
Order under 00439-16. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. The thread is M12x1.25. A hardware-store equivalent is not sensible in a pressurised assembly. These are the parts that are easy to lose on the bench and impossible to improvise afterwards.
Fitting and Setup Service
If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.
