Valves and needles set the adjustable part of the damping; the piston sets the rest. Jets meter fixed bleed flow and are sized in tenths of a millimetre. The piston carries the shim stacks and meters the oil; its port layout is what makes an Öhlins damper behave the way it does.

Why the Original

Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier.

Getting the Number Right

Order under 00305-04. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. The piston carries the shim stacks and meters the oil through its ports. Port area and seat geometry decide the damping before any adjuster is touched.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00305-04

Category: Pistons

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00305-04_7ac2977c-685b-4295-bfbe-dc4ea9c417be.png?v=1788869092
