The preload tube transfers the spring load to the adjuster and sets the installed length. The adjuster is the part a rider actually touches, and its detents are what make a setting repeatable. Its length defines the preload range available on the unit.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier. The exploded drawing for your unit names the number; if you do not have it, we do.

Getting the Number Right

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 04763-04 in this case. Where no measurement is given, the drawing position is what identifies the part. Detent balls and springs are separate parts because they wear before the housing does. Öhlins builds click adjusters with defined detents so a setting can be written down and returned to.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 04763-04

Category: Preload Tubes

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/04763-04_8212f305-8914-4dbe-a1fd-a641cbd6593f.png?v=1788873295
