Inner tubes carry a low-friction coating; once it is through, the seals wear quickly. Outer tubes are specific to the fork model and its travel. Top caps carry the adjusters and the preload mechanism.

Original Öhlins Part

Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order. Order by part number. The dimensions below are the ones Öhlins publishes for it.

Getting the Number Right

Öhlins identifies this position by the number 04760-40 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. dimension a 57 mm, dimension b 58 mm, dimension c 494 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Fork parts are specific to the fork, not to the motorcycle it happens to be fitted to. Axle clamps and lower legs are machined to hold the axle without distorting the fork.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 04760-40

Category: Outer Tubes

Dimension A: 57 mm

Dimension B: 58 mm

Dimension C: 494 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/04760-40_677becf0-53d2-45d6-b7e7-8574d8487476.png?v=1788873173
