Where It Sits
Dimensionally this is 37 mm, 2 mm, NBR 70, which is how it is told apart from the rest of the range. Static seals and dynamic seals are not interchangeable even in the same size. A seal that has taken a set no longer springs back and starts to weep. The dust seal does the hard work: it keeps the grit that would score the shaft away from the oil seal.
Original Öhlins Part
Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. If the unit is already apart, compare the published dimensions with the part in your hand. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier.
How to Be Sure It Fits
If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 00338-92. inner diameter 37 mm, cross section 2 mm, material NBR 70 is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. O-rings are single-use in a pressurised damper — they are replaced whenever the unit is opened. Seals harden with heat and age even when the machine has not been ridden much.
Fitting and Setup Service
Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.
