Where It Sits
Öhlins gives it as 12 mm, 85 mm, 35 mm; nothing about that is approximate. Spherical bearings in the eye let the damper move without binding as the linkage arcs. Eye width and bore diameter both have to match the chassis mount. End caps carry adjusters, seals and often the gas valve.
Original Öhlins Part
The part number is the contract: it defines material, dimension and finish together. Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. If the unit is already apart, compare the published dimensions with the part in your hand. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise.
Identifying the Right Part
Order under 03153-10. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. dimension a 12 mm, dimension b 85 mm, dimension c 35 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. A spherical bearing in the eye lets the damper follow the linkage arc without side load. The end eye carries the whole load of the damper into the chassis.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
