Where It Sits
This one measures 46 mm, 141.5 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. The tube also carries the end cap threads, so thread damage means a new tube. Twin-tube dampers carry two concentric tubes and list them separately. Twin-tube dampers use two concentric tubes, and both are listed separately.
Why the Original
Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute. The exploded drawing for your unit names the number; if you do not have it, we do.
Getting the Number Right
The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 01010-01 in this case. The published dimensions are diameter 46 mm, length 141.5 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Öhlins turns and hones each tube to a defined roundness, because an out-of-round bore leaks past the piston. Length here is the working length, not the overall dimension, which is why two similar tubes are not interchangeable.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.
