Where It Sits
The published figures are 36 mm, 26 mm. Measure the old part against them before ordering. The cylinder is one of the few damper parts that is genuinely wear-limited. Reservoir tubes carry the gas charge and are built to the same standard as the working cylinder. It is the part that keeps oil in and grit out, which is why it is replaced whenever the unit weeps.
Genuine Service Part
Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not.
Identifying the Right Part
00303-13 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. diameter 36 mm, length 26 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Öhlins turns and hones each tube to a defined roundness, because an out-of-round bore leaks past the piston. Aluminium tubes are hard-anodised in the bore so the piston band has a hard surface to run against.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.
