DescriptionThe whole story▼
Adjuster shaft 90.0/4.3, Öhlins part number 00566-42. A worn adjuster loses its clicks, and with them any chance of a methodical setup.
Key Features
- Dimension B 4.3 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
- Dimension A 90.0 mm
- Öhlins part number 00566-42
Function
00566-42 is the 90.0 mm, 4.3 mm version — Öhlins lists each size separately. Preload adjusters carry the full spring force and are built accordingly. Electronically controlled adjusters replace the needle with a solenoid but keep the same hydraulics. Compression and rebound adjusters are not interchangeable even when they look similar.
Genuine Service Part
Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you.
Getting the Number Right
Order under 00566-42. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Check dimension a 90.0 mm, dimension b 4.3 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Adjuster housings carry seals, and a leak there empties the damper as surely as a shaft seal. An adjuster that turns without resistance has lost its detent; the setting is then guesswork.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
