DescriptionThe whole story▼

Genuine Pinlock® 70 MaxVision™ anti-fog insert for the LS2 FF908 Strobe II, Pinlock code DKS520, LS2 part 800400035. 🔵 Note that unlike several other LS2 modular helmets, this insert does not come in the box with the FF908 — the visor is drilled and pinned for it, and the lens is bought separately. If you ride through a European winter, this is the first accessory to add.

A Pinlock lens is a second screen sealed against the inside of the visor on a silicone bead, trapping a thin layer of air between the two. That layer keeps the inner surface above the dew point of your breath, which is why it does not fog when a bare visor does. It is physics rather than a coating, so it does not wear off. MaxVision means the lens reaches the edges of the aperture instead of leaving a fogged frame around a small window.

The grade is 70, meaning roughly seventy per cent light transmission — marginally darker than a bare visor after dark, and the standard specification for this helmet. The DKS code is helmet-specific: DKS520 fits the Strobe II and nothing else in our LS2 range. And the lens has a service life of its own; if a visor that used to stay clear begins misting at the edges, the silicone bead has hardened and the lens rather than the screen needs replacing.
