Genuine LS2 replacement chin bar for the FF901 Advant X, part 800901CBB13, finished to match the Metryk Matt Titanium colourway. The Metryk chin bar in matt titanium silver on black. Metryk is a tone-on-tone graphic whose panels sit only a shade lighter than the shell, so it depends entirely on the two parts having been sprayed to the same specification. Any other grey bar will show.
The chin bar is the part of a flip-up that takes the abuse. It is the lowest point of the helmet when it is set down on a tank or a bench, it is what a dropped helmet lands on, and it is the section handled at every fuel stop and every set of lights. Being able to replace it — rather than the whole helmet — after a scrape in a car park is one of the practical advantages of a modular design.
It is also a certified structure rather than a cover. Under ECE 22.06 the chin bar is impact-tested and its lock is tested to stay shut, which is what earns the helmet its P classification; SHARP measured the same property independently and found it fully locked in 63 % of impacts. Fit the correct part, fit it properly, and check the lock engages positively on both sides before riding.
