DescriptionThe whole story▼
On an F4 a tip-over marks the parts you cannot cover with a decal. Enter the ARMV102: nylon outside for elasticity, Ergal inside for strength, 460 g on the scales. It is offered in 2 colours: Black, Red. The kit costs less than an hour of workshop time on a F4.
Key Features
- 2 colours on the ARMV102, all at the same price
- The ARMV102 adds 460 g to a F4 and changes nothing about how it steers
- Available in 2 finishes for the F4: Black, Red
- Colour choice does not affect the fit of the ARMV102 on the F4
- The screen-printed ARMV102 shell keeps its marking after the first scuff
- The ARMV102 costs less than the smallest part it defends on a F4
- The ARMV102 stands proud of the axle nut, which is the whole mechanism
Why an Axle Slider Works
What makes an axle slider work on a F4 is that it touches down before anything structural. Splitting the job between two materials is what lets the ARMV102 be both tough and light. The result weighs 460 g and can be rebuilt with a new insert after a fall.
Construction
The shell of the ARMV102 is a nylon moulding with the LighTech logo screen-printed into it. The insert is Ergal: known for strength, chosen here for its weight. Because the insert is a separate item, a scuffed ARMV102 is rebuilt rather than replaced.
Compatibility and Installation
Fitment is the MV Agusta F4, 2013 to 2016. No modification to the F4 is involved — the standard points take the kit.
In the Workshop
Allow an unhurried half hour for the ARMV102 on a F4 the first time. Thread-locking compound is sensible on a F4 that sees track use. Whichever of the 2 colours you take for the F4, the ARMV102 mounting is unchanged.
Scope of Delivery
The ARMV102 ships as a complete axle set for the F4: shells, inserts and the bolts that hold them. The packaging lists the ARMV102 reference, so a second order for the same F4 is unambiguous.
Road Approval
Nothing in the ARMV102 box constitutes a type approval, and we do not imply one. On a registered F4 the protector's position can become a question at the next inspection. Settle that with your inspection body first. On track it is not an issue.
