The OBT009 sets the reservoir position on the XJ6 at 28.9 mm and 31 mm. Black anodised, and black is the whole range for the OBT009. On a 600 cc machine like the XJ6 it is the cheapest cockpit change available.

Key Features

Black anodised — LighTech makes this bracket in no other finish

10 g on the XJ6

Steel-free so nothing corrodes into the XJ6 fitting

Nothing on the XJ6 is drilled, cut or permanently altered

LighTech part number OBT009, listed for the Yamaha XJ6

Covers the XJ6 across 9 model years (2008 to 2016)

Application

This listing covers the Yamaha XJ6, 2008 to 2016. It is an adaptable bracket, not a Yamaha part — measure the space on the XJ6 first.

Position Is the Point

LighTech splits reservoir and bracket because the bracket is what varies by machine. The OBT009 sets the reservoir at 28.9 mm height with 31 mm of projection. One bracket per reservoir — the XJ6 needs the tank ordered alongside.

Fitting

Allow half an hour on the XJ6 including bleeding. Check steering lock on the XJ6 once the tank is in place. Keep the original parts — the change is fully reversible on the XJ6.

Care and Checks

Vibration finds every loose fastener on the XJ6 eventually. Otherwise it is a fit-and-forget item on the XJ6.

In the Package

The OBT009 is supplied as a single bracket with its fasteners. Spares are listed under their own numbers rather than bundled.

The Second Part Number

LighTech sells this mount on its own. It is made for the LighTech reservoir range and fits none of the original parts. A complete installation on the XJ6 is one tank plus one bracket.

Approval Status

What looks like a cosmetic swap on the XJ6 is a change to a safety system. We list the OBT009 without an approval claim because LighTech issues none. We would rather you asked your inspection body first than found out at the next test.

Specifications

Brand: LighTech

Part number: OBT009

Type: Reservoir bracket, rear

Height: 28.9 mm

Projection: 31 mm

Material: Anodised aluminium

Finish: Black only

Fits reservoirs: OBT001, OBT006, OBT007

Weight: 10 g

Fitment: Yamaha XJ6 (2008 to 2016)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/v_OBT009_c401558b-55fe-426c-ad9f-a2446a0fc899.png?v=1791204604
