DescriptionThe whole story▼
A woven weave is the cheapest way to make a SPEED TRIPLE 1200 RS look built rather than bought. That is what the CART1202 is: a front fork protection in glossy carbon, sold as a pair. Much of the range is cured in an autoclave, which is what LighTech credits for its strength. Made in Italy, like the rest of the range.
Key Features
- LighTech part number CART1202
- Clean with neutral detergents only — LighTech's own recommendation
- Lighter than the standard component, according to LighTech
- Glossy finish
- Covers a SPEED TRIPLE 1200 RS across 6 model years (2021 to 2026)
- A stock LighTech item
What It Fits
The CART1202 is intended for a Triumph SPEED TRIPLE 1200 RS from 2021 to 2026. Carbon parts are moulded to the shape of one bodywork generation — a part from a different year will not sit flush. We check this before the parcel leaves if you tell us the bike.
Scope and Conditions
The scope of the CART1202, stated plainly. The part is supplied as a pair, as stated by LighTech. Depending on the part, the CART1202 is bonded with a little silicone at the support points or screwed on with the fasteners in the box; LighTech does not promise one or the other for every item. Neutral detergents only — the manufacturer's instruction for every carbon part in the range. A stock LighTech item, so a second one is not a special order.
What Autoclave Carbon Buys You
What a part is made of shows up long before anyone reads the spec. With the CART1202 the front fork protection of a SPEED TRIPLE 1200 RS becomes a woven surface rather than a painted one, and LighTech puts the weight below that of the standard part. Nothing here needs to be taken on trust: the claims are LighTech's own, and labelled as such.
What You Get
In the box: both parts of the CART1202, glossy carbon. What LighTech includes by way of fasteners is in the package. Tools are not part of the delivery.
Fitting
The CART1202 is a job for a cool bike on its stand. Do not overtighten: carbon takes compression badly at a single point. If you would rather not do it yourself, our workshop in Munich fits it.
Approval
Where the registration question stands. No German approval document comes with the CART1202 — no ABE and no Teilegutachten. Clarify it in advance if the SPEED TRIPLE 1200 RS is used on public roads.
