DescriptionThe whole story▼
The clutch lever of a CBR 1000 RR is as exposed as the brake side and gets protected half as often. The ISS119LA is the aluminium clutch guard for the CBR 1000 RR: anodised at the tip, 160 g fitted. 8 colour options are available, none of which affect fitment on the CBR 1000 RR. Sold individually, so a CBR 1000 RR needs one per side if you want both covered.
Key Features
- Machined aluminium body with an anodised guard end
- No drilling and no cutting on the CBR 1000 RR
- 132 mm guard length, measured from the bar end to the centre of the guard tip
- The ISS119LA is a stock item, not a special order
- Anodised rather than painted, so a scuff does not show raw metal on the CBR 1000 RR
- Bar-end weights come off the CBR 1000 RR; nothing else does
Supplied As
One guard per box — the CBR 1000 RR takes two for a matched pair. With the preselected “Adapter” value, the adapter for the CBR 1000 RR arrives in the same delivery as the ISS119LA. If the CBR 1000 RR needs a replacement later, nothing else has to come off.
Why Aluminium
The clutch lever of a CBR 1000 RR is unprotected from the factory. LighTech cuts the ISS119LA rather than casting it, which keeps the mating faces true. On the CBR 1000 RR the extra grams buy a guard that does not give.
Fitment and Compatibility
This listing covers the Honda CBR 1000 RR, 2004 to 2019. Bar-end weights have to come off the CBR 1000 RR before the guard goes on.
Fitting It to the Bike
Allow a quarter of an hour per side on the CBR 1000 RR the first time. With the adapter in place the guard bolts on and is set for angle before final tightening. Instructions are in the box; the CBR 1000 RR needs no modification.
The Adapter Option
The ISS119LA needs a mount that suits the bar of the CBR 1000 RR. The adapter is what carries the guard, so it is chosen by the bar, not by the guard. On the CBR 1000 RR the guard goes on with KPL306, which comes with it as long as the “Adapter” option keeps its preselected value. Owners of a spare KPL306 can pick “Without Adapter” instead.
Road Approval and Regulations
Regulations cover the brake side; the clutch side is the rider's decision. LighTech supplies no type approval with the ISS119LA, and we claim none. For road use, clarify it before fitting if the CBR 1000 RR is registered.
