DescriptionThe whole story▼
When lap times matter and corner-entry confidence is non-negotiable, the K-Tech steering damper for the Aprilia RSV4/R (2012–2018) is the upgrade that separates controlled aggression from handlebar-induced chaos. Co-developed with Toby Dampers, this unit brings race-proven damping technology to one of the most demanding superbikes on track or road.
Key Features
- Fully adjustable damping — dial in exactly the resistance your riding style and circuit demands
- Lightweight aluminium construction keeps unsprung and reciprocating mass to a minimum without sacrificing rigidity
- Complete with all mounting hardware — brackets and bolts included for a direct, no-fabrication fit
- Fully serviceable design ensures long-term performance and easy rebuild when required
- Dual-use engineering — equally at home on the road or in a professional racing environment
Race-Engineered Damping for the RSV4
The RSV4 platform is notorious for its razor-sharp steering geometry, and at race pace that precision can tip into nervous, fatiguing handlebar kick. The K-Tech unit was engineered specifically to absorb those high-frequency steering inputs — the kind generated by kerbs, mid-corner bumps and aggressive braking — without blunting the RSV4's celebrated responsiveness. The result is a steering feel that remains direct and communicative, but never unsettled.
Manufactured in collaboration with Toby Dampers, the damper body is machined from aluminium, keeping weight low across the front-end assembly. The fully adjustable construction means the rider can fine-tune resistance to suit everything from a smooth national circuit to an abrasive, bumpy club track.
Build Quality and Serviceability
Unlike sealed OEM-style dampers that are simply replaced when performance fades, the K-Tech unit is fully serviceable. Internals can be inspected, revalved and rebuilt by any authorised K-Tech Service Centre, making this a long-term investment rather than a consumable part. Every dimension — from the 18 mm bore to the 65 mm stroke — is held to tight tolerances to guarantee consistent, repeatable damping force across the full range of adjustment.
Fitment and Compatibility
This steering damper is a direct-fit application for the following motorcycles:
- Aprilia RSV4 (2012–2018)
- Aprilia RSV4 R (2012–2018)
Installation must be carried out exclusively by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre. Specialist tools and technical knowledge are required to ensure optimal performance and safety.
