DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 036 A restores the F900R's indicator load so LED units flash at the right rate.
Key Features
- BMW F900R (2019–2024)
- Restores the indicator circuit load
- Stops the flash rate doubling
- Plugs into BMW's own connector
- For LED or removed indicators
- Standard units refit at any time
A Steel Bridge Frame
BMW used a pressed and welded structure rather than cast aluminium, which keeps the cost down and puts the rigidity where it is wanted.
A Popular First Big Bike
The F900R sells to riders moving up, and those riders modify. Indicators and a tail tidy are almost always the first two purchases.
A Hundred and Five Horsepower
From the 895 cc twin with a 270 degree crank. Enough to be genuinely quick and little enough to be learnable.
Reversible
Refit the standard indicators, unplug the eliminator and nothing about the change remains.
Bought as a Step Up
The F900R sells to riders leaving a smaller machine behind, and those riders modify enthusiastically. It is why the parts catalogue for this model filled out faster than the sales figures alone would suggest.
A Load, Not a Lamp
The circuit does not know what an indicator looks like. It knows how much current one draws, and that is the only thing this part supplies.
Two Versions Exist
BMW uses more than one connector across the range, so this eliminator is supplied in an A and a B form. Look at the plug on the bike before ordering.
Not Just a Resistor Taped On
The usual improvisation is a load resistor cable-tied to a frame tube, which gets hot and eventually melts something. This is a packaged part designed for the job.
Both Sides, Every Time
Left and right are separate circuits and the relay measures each independently. Fitting one eliminator and testing only that side is the commonest way this job goes wrong.
A Modification With a Long History
Riders have been fitting smaller indicators for as long as motorcycles have had them, and manufacturers have been monitoring lighting circuits for nearly as long. The two habits have never sat comfortably together.
