DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ESR 008 answers the rear electronic suspension circuit on the Streetfighter V4 once the semi-active shock has been replaced with a conventional unit.
Key Features
- Ducati Streetfighter V4 (2020–2024)
- Answers the rear electronic suspension circuit
- No warning and no withheld riding modes
- Plugs into Ducati's own connector
- For a conversion to a conventional shock
- Standard shock refits at any time
Modified Early
Very few stay standard past the first season. An exhaust and a map arrive quickly, and the emissions hardware is on the same list.
Not an Upgrade in Itself
The eliminator changes nothing about how the motorcycle rides. It exists so that a conversion already decided upon does not leave a permanent warning on the panel.
The Original Legs Refit
Everything goes back on its own hardware. The conversion is reversible in the sense that matters, which is that no part of the motorcycle was modified to achieve it.
On the Rear
The connector generally sits above the shock, and reaching it is easier with the seat unit off. Nothing needs the shock itself removed.
Potted Throughout
Suspension connectors live low and wet. Everything electrical inside the eliminator is sealed as a unit rather than assembled from crimps and heatshrink.
What Happens Without It
A stored fault, a warning on the panel and, on several models, riding modes withheld until the circuit reads healthy again.
Front and Rear
Separate circuits, separate part numbers. Converting only one end means only that end needs an eliminator fitted to it.
Front and Rear Are Not Interchangeable
The two circuits use different connectors and expect different values, so the parts are not the same and cannot be swapped between ends. A conversion at one end only needs one eliminator, and a full conversion needs both.
A Naked Bike Loads the Rear Differently
Without a fairing the rider sits upright and takes the wind, which moves weight rearward under acceleration and forward under braking more sharply than on a covered machine. A shock chosen and valved for that specific loading is a defensible reason to leave the semi-active unit behind, and it is a different argument from the one a superbike owner makes.
Shock Reservoir Clearance
Conventional units frequently carry a remote reservoir where the electronic shock carried a motor, and on this model the space around the rear cylinder is contested. Checking that the reservoir and its hose have somewhere to live is worth doing before the old shock is out rather than after.
