DescriptionThe whole story▼
The keylock cover is a small panel in a place your hand touches before every ride. It is the sort of part that gets bought last and noticed first, because it sits where the eye lands when you approach the motorcycle from the front-left and reach for the ignition.
Key Features
- Replaces the moulded surround at the ignition and steering lock
- Four configurations in 200 Plain: clear coat, matt, satin and raw
- Resists the key-edge scratching that painted plastic collects around a lock barrel
- Fits on the original mounting points without adhesive
- Among the least expensive parts in the range
Small Parts, Cumulative Effect
There is a point in any carbon build where the large panels are done and what remains is detail. This is one of those parts, and its value is entirely in consistency: a motorcycle with carbon tank fairings and a painted plastic keylock surround looks unfinished in a way that is hard to name until you fix it.
It is also genuinely functional in a minor way. The area around an ignition barrel collects fine scratches from key edges over years, and on a painted surface those go white. On carbon they do not show, particularly in matt.
Fitment and Compatibility
Ducati Diavel V4, 2023 to 2026, on the original mounting points. A ten-minute job requiring no special tools.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes no ABE or EC type-approval for this cover. It is a trim part with no effect on any approved characteristic or on the lock mechanism; confirm the position for your registration before road use.
Order It With Something Larger
At this price the part costs less than the shipping on its own, which makes it a poor standalone purchase and an obvious addition to any other order. Most people add it to the tank fairings or the seat cover rather than buying it alone.
If it is bought alone, buy it in the finish you intend for the rest of the motorcycle rather than the cheapest available. A satin keylock cover next to matt tank fairings is exactly the sort of small inconsistency that is annoying precisely because the part was cheap.
