DescriptionThe whole story▼
Honda gave the CB1000 Hornet SP a Fireblade-derived engine and an exhaust built to keep it quiet. This is the Akrapovic answer: a titanium slip-on with the end cap and heat shield drawn from scratch for this machine, an exhaust valve in the link pipe, and 1.33 kg less to carry.
Key Features
- End cap and heat shield designed from scratch for the CB1000 Hornet SP rather than adapted from another model
- Exhaust valve in the link pipe, which is what lets the system perform without losing the type approval
- 4.88 kg against the standard 6.21 kg: 1.33 kg and 21.4 per cent less
- Titanium muffler outer sleeve, sandblasted for an even matt finish; stainless steel link pipe and inner muffler structure
- Shape and contours follow the design language of the hexagonal Akrapovic systems
- Carbon fibre heat shield to protect the rider's apparel
- EC and ECE type approved, plug-and-play with no remapping
Designed for This Bike, Not Adapted to It
Akrapovic states that the end cap and the heat shield were designed from scratch for the Hornet SP. That distinction matters on a naked bike, where an exhaust that clearly came from another model is visible from every angle. The muffler body still follows the family hexagonal language, so it reads as an Akrapovic part rather than a generic aftermarket can.
The valve in the link pipe is the technical half of the same idea: it lets the system flow when the engine wants it to and close down when the type-approval measurement is taken.
The SP, Not the Standard Hornet
Honda sells the CB1000 Hornet in two states. The standard bike runs Showa forks and Nissin brakes; the SP adds Öhlins at the rear, Brembo Stylema calipers, a quickshifter and its own exhaust hardware. This part is listed for the SP, and the fitment on this page says so rather than covering both and hoping.
Installation is quoted at 45 minutes. The SP's tail section and the right-hand side panel have to come away to reach the mounting, which is longer than a bare naked bike usually needs but well short of a full-system job.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-H10SO30-HILT fits the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP of model years 2025 and 2026. Two notes from Akrapovic: this part fits the SP version only, and it was developed and tested on EU-specification machines — fitment and measured performance on bikes for other markets can differ. Akrapovic also notes that the product photograph is symbolic.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval, with the certificates supplied and downloadable here. The silencer is a legal replacement part for road use in the European Union.
