DescriptionThe whole story▼

Akrapovic names a number here, and it is the one that matters at a motocross track: 109 dB/A. That is the limit most European clubs and many national federations measure against, and this damper exists so an Evolution Line can meet it.

Key Features

  • Stainless steel noise damper for the KX450 Evolution Line
  • Developed for tracks where 109 dB/A is required
  • Fits the system S-K4MET9-FDHLTA, model years 2024 to 2026
  • Optional — the system runs without it
  • Removable in a couple of minutes

Why 109 dB/A

Motocross noise testing is not the same as the static test used for road bikes. Clubs measure at a set distance and engine speed, and 109 dB/A has become the common threshold across much of Europe. A machine over it does not start, whatever else is right about it.

Akrapovic does not publish the measured level with the damper fitted, only that it was developed for that limit. We will not invent a figure — if a specific meeting has given you a number to hit, tell us and we will ask Akrapovic directly.

Optional, not mandatory

The Evolution Line works without this damper. It goes in when a track requires it and comes out afterwards.

Fitting and removing it

A noise damper goes into the outlet of the silencer and is held by a bolt through the end cap. Fitting takes a couple of minutes with a single tool, and it comes out the same way when the meeting is over.

Article number

Akrapovic lists this damper as V-TUV385. The equivalent for the Yamaha 250 and 450 is V-TUV386.
