DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fifteen model years on one part number. Honda built the CBR600RR in this form from 2004 to 2018 with the same exhaust route throughout, which for a supersport machine is remarkable — and it means a system bought for a 2006 track bike fits a 2017 one.
Key Features
- 4.2 kg fitted against 7.5 kg standard — 44 per cent gone
- Output reaches 111.3 PS from 107.8, with 5.1 PS more at 7,800 rpm
- Complete titanium Evolution KIT system
- Fifteen model years covered by one part number
- Significantly lighter than the standard exhaust
- No road approval — circuit use only
Power in the Middle
The 5.1 PS is measured at 7,800 rpm, which on a CBR600RR is well below the peak. Supersport 600s make their headline power near 13,000 revs, and a gain at 7,800 is the sort of thing a rider notices coming out of a slow corner rather than at the end of a straight.
Peak output rises from 107.8 to 111.3 PS. Both figures matter and they describe different things.
What an Evolution KIT Is
Akrapovic uses the KIT designation for complete systems supplied to be assembled onto a machine rather than replacing a single section. Headers, mid-pipe and silencer arrive together and the standard exhaust comes off entirely.
A Used Track Bike
The CBR600RR of these years is now overwhelmingly a circuit machine. Honda stopped selling it new in Europe after 2016, and the surviving examples are club racers, trackday bikes and the occasional carefully kept road bike.
On a motorcycle at that stage, a system with no road approval costs nothing in practice — and 3.3 kg on a 194 kg supersport is a genuine improvement.
Forty-Four Per Cent
3.3 kg from a 7.5 kg standard system. Honda built the CBR600RR's exhaust to meet the noise and emissions rules of its era with a large under-seat collector, and a titanium replacement removes nearly half of it.
The Supersport Class Is Coming Back
After years of decline the 600 class has found new life in club racing and one-make series, and the CBR600RR of these years is one of the most common machines on those grids. Parts for it are still being made because the bikes are still being raced.
One Number, Two Generations
Honda revised the CBR600RR in 2007 and again in 2013, changing the bodywork and the electronics both times without touching the exhaust route. That is why a single part number spans 2004 to 2018 on a machine that looked quite different at each end of that period.
Nothing Published on Torque
Akrapovic gives a weight and a power figure for this system but no torque measurement. We report what exists rather than filling the gap — a 600 four's torque curve is flat enough that a single number would say little anyway.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-H6EFT9T-WT covers the Honda CBR600RR from 2004 through 2018. For the 2024 machine Akrapovic builds a separate competition system, S-H6E1-WT.
Road Approval
None. This product does not meet emission compliance requirements for street or highway use.
