DescriptionThe whole story▼
Rain does not ask whether your licence is new. Anyone who uses an Aprilia RS 457 to get to work will meet standing water in March at the same roundabout that was bone dry in July, and the front brake is expected to answer in much the same way on both mornings. Accossato's AGPA184 covers the front of the RS 457 of 2024 and 2025, and this product is the Sintered version of it, the compound the firm points at riders who do not leave the bike in the garage when the forecast turns.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Aprilia RS 457 in the Sintered compound, 2024 and 2025
- Accossato: a high, steady level of grip whether cold or hot, and reliable in the wet
- Chosen by riders who use the bike all year rather than in summer only
- The RS 457 450 of 2024 sits under the same catalogue entry
- One box equals one caliper's worth of pads
- Replaces the pads in the original front caliper
- No German test paperwork on record; supplied for racing use
Construction and Material Quality
What Accossato claims for this mixture is consistency across temperature. The pads are meant to hold the same level of bite when they are stone cold at seven in the morning and when they have been worked hard down a series of bends, and the company adds that the material grips properly on a wet disc. On the RS 457 that consistency is worth more than an extra sliver of outright force, because a parallel twin of this size is stopped as much by good timing as by effort at the lever. Accossato cuts the pad to the caliper it belongs in, so nothing needs adjusting on the bench.
Spray, Paint and the First Squeeze
Wet-weather braking on a fully faired bike has a rhythm to it. A film of water sits on the disc between applications, and the first squeeze of the lever is partly spent clearing it, which is why experienced riders brush the brake lightly on the approach to a junction in heavy rain instead of waiting for the moment they need it. Add the greasy strip down the middle of a lane after a dry spell, painted arrows at a junction and a steel drain cover on the exit, and the RS 457 rider has plenty to think about. Pads that behave the same way when soaked make one of those variables smaller.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Sintered AGPA184 is listed for the RS 457 built in 2024 and 2025, plus the version Accossato records as RS 457 450 for 2024. The rear of the same bike is served by the AGPP91 pad in the same range. Check how many calipers work your front disc, since the box holds one set, and while the wheel is out give the disc a look for scoring before the new pads go in.
Road Approval
These pads reach us without a German ABE or any equivalent test mark, so they are sold for the circuit and for competition. On a road-registered machine they are not covered.
Scope of Delivery
