DescriptionThe whole story▼

Some tip-overs happen with nobody on the bike. A Shiver 750 GT parked overnight on sun-softened tarmac or on the grass of a campsite can find its side stand slowly sinking, and by morning the bike lies on its left side. The clutch lever is usually the first thing to hit the ground. Aprilia's half-faired Shiver, listed by Accossato from 2009 to 2017, is built for trips of exactly this kind. Accossato's AGS16 is a silver clutch lever in original shape to replace a lever lost that way.

Key Features

  • Clutch lever in original shape for the Aprilia Shiver 750 GT, 2009 to 2017
  • For models with and without ABS
  • Silver
  • Left handlebar
  • Accossato: the manufacturing process gives more resistance after damage or a collision
  • Designed as an affordable replacement
  • One lever
  • No German ABE; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

In Accossato's terms, the AGS16 is an original spare parts type: its shape is taken from the clutch lever Aprilia fitted to the Shiver 750 GT. The company developed it to offer good value for money and claims that its manufacturing process leaves the lever more resistant after damage or a collision. It comes in silver. Packed as a spare for a long trip, a lever like this takes up little room and saves you a search for a dealer in an unfamiliar town.

The Side Stand Sank Overnight

A small plate under the side stand prevents most overnight falls. A flattened drinks can, a piece of wood or a purpose-made puck spreads the load on soft ground, and parking with the front wheel slightly uphill and first gear engaged stops the Shiver 750 GT from rolling forward off its stand. If the bike is already down, lift it with two people if you can, and check the clutch lever before loading the luggage. A lever that is bent or broken short makes the clutch hard to disengage fully, which you notice when trying to find neutral or pull away on a slope. Fitting a spare takes a few minutes: pivot bolt out, clean and lightly grease it, new lever on, then set the free play as the handbook describes.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato gives the AGS16 for the GT with ABS from 2009 and for the version without ABS from 2010, in both cases up to 2017. The front brake lever on the right is the AGD13, likewise silver, and it is worth checking which of the two you need before ordering. At Inter-Pace the same clutch lever also appears under the Shiver 750 and the Dorsoduro 750. For a lever in a different shape, Accossato offers its CNC clutch lever ESC023 for the Shiver 750 GT.

Road Approval

No ABE or approval documentation exists on our side for the AGS16, and it is therefore listed for racing and competition use.
