DescriptionThe whole story▼
Many XSR900 owners treat the bike as a weekend project as much as transport, swapping exhausts, seats and mirrors in their own garage rather than leaving it stock, and that habit of tinkering means the bike spends plenty of time balanced on a paddock stand while parts are fitted and tested. A home-made or budget stand, bought to save money rather than built to a workshop standard, is more prone to flexing or slipping under repeated use than a quality version, particularly once a weld or a joint has taken some wear. Accossato lists the PP080 rear axle sliders for the XSR900 of 2016 to 2020.
Key Features
- Rear axle sliders for the Yamaha XSR900, 2016 to 2020
- Accossato PP080, a left and a right protector
- Aluminium and plastic construction, black
- Spacers, screws and remaining mounting parts in the kit, as stated by Accossato
- PF040/PF055 front sliders and TP097 crash pads also listed for this bike
- Sacrificial parts, renewed after a heavy impact
- Same pair listed for the MT-09, MT-09 SP and Tracer 900 GT
- No German ABE documented; offered for racing
Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium and plastic make up both black PP080 protectors, one for the left and one for the right side at the rear of the bike. By Accossato's own account, the box also carries the spacers, the screws and whatever else is needed for mounting. Should a worn or budget paddock stand flex under repeated home workshop use and let the rear drop, these sliders stand ready ahead of the swingarm and the rear axle area, absorbing some of what those parts would otherwise take. A slider that has clearly done that job is exchanged rather than kept.
A Stand That Has Seen Better Days
A paddock stand bought cheaply to save money on an early project often gets used far more than its price tag suggests it should, lifting the XSR900's rear end again and again for exhaust swaps, chain adjustments and the dozens of small jobs that come with owning a bike meant to be modified. Over time, welds can fatigue and pivots can develop play that was not there when the stand was new, and a stand that has started to flex under load may let go without warning on what feels like a routine lift. Inspecting a well-used stand before trusting it with another job, and replacing one that shows any sign of weakness, both reduce the risk. If the XSR900 does drop from a failing stand, check the sliders and the chain before continuing the work.
Fitment and Compatibility
The PP080 keeps to 2016 through 2020 on the XSR900 according to Accossato, and that is the window we use. Front protection on this bike comes from either the PF040 or the PF055, with the TP097 on the fairing. This rear slider is also catalogued in our shop against the MT-09, the MT-09 SP and the Tracer 900 GT. Ask us to confirm fitment before ordering if your bike does not clearly match those years.
Road Approval
No ABE or test mark has been supplied to us for the PP080, so we list it for racing and competition purposes.
Scope of Delivery
