DescriptionThe whole story▼
With a superbike engine beneath its naked bodywork, the MT-10 attracts owners who want that character on the road rather than a track, and plenty of them take it to organised ride-outs where dozens of similar bikes gather at a single meeting point before setting off together. Mass departures from a car park, with riders pulling out in sequence and others still manoeuvring into position, create exactly the kind of close-quarters chaos where a bike can be nudged from behind before its rider even has both feet up. Accossato lists the PP019 rear axle sliders for the MT-10 of 2016 to 2018.
Key Features
- Rear axle sliders for the Yamaha MT-10, 2016 to 2018
- Accossato PP019, a left and a right protector
- Aluminium and plastic construction, black
- Spacers, screws and remaining mounting parts in the kit, as stated by Accossato
- PF046 front sliders and TP025 crash pads also listed for this bike
- Sacrificial parts, renewed after a heavy impact
- Same pair listed for the MT-10 SP, R1 and R1M
- No German ABE documented; offered for racing
Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium and plastic go into both black PP019 protectors, one for the left and one for the right side at the rear of the bike. Accossato's kit, by its own account, contains the spacers, screws and remaining parts it regards as necessary for mounting. Caught up in the confusion of a mass departure, with riders pulling away in close sequence, the sliders are positioned to meet the ground first if the bike is knocked from behind, sparing the swingarm and the rear axle area some of that impact. A slider worn through this way is exchanged rather than reused.
A Mass Departure From a Busy Car Park
Group ride-outs look organised on paper but rarely feel that way in the car park itself, with dozens of bikes jostling for space, engines running and riders craning to see the lead bike pull away. A rider still settling their helmet or checking their mirrors is an easy target for someone else's bike rolling past too close, and the rear of a stationary MT-10 offers little to stop a glancing knock from tipping it. Leaving a clear gap on both sides where the car park allows, and getting fully ready before the bike in front moves, both reduce the chance of being caught out. If the MT-10 does go over in the crush of a mass departure, the rear sliders take that first contact; check them, the chain and the exhaust before setting off.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list gives the PP019 for the MT-10 across 2016 to 2018, and our listing matches that. At the front, the PF046 sliders complete the protection, and the TP025 crash pads cover the fairing. In our shop, the PP019 additionally covers the MT-10 SP, the R1 and the R1M. Please compare your MT-10 with the application list before ordering, or ask us to check it.
Road Approval
No ABE or test mark has been supplied to us for the PP019, so we list it for racing and competition purposes.
