DescriptionThe whole story▼

Moving up to the big class brings more than extra power to manage; the chain on a Husqvarna FC 450 works harder too, and getting the tension right side to side matters more on a bike that drives this hard out of every corner. Accossato's RCM1 covers the FC 450 built in 2014 and 2015, a pair of rear axle blocks with their own adjusting screw, built for dialling that tension in with confidence rather than guesswork.

Key Features

  • Rear axle blocks for the Husqvarna FC 450, 2014 to 2015
  • Accossato code RCM1, one pair, left and right
  • Each block carries its own adjusting screw for setting chain tension
  • Orange, black or silver
  • Also listed for the FC 250, the FC 350 and a wide run of other Husqvarna and KTM off-road models
  • Accossato's RTM1 covers the same bike without the adjusting screw, for riders who prefer the stock method
  • No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Each RCM1 block replaces the stock part at the swingarm end, with an adjusting screw worked into its body so the rear wheel can be set without a separate tool. Orange, black and silver are the finishes on offer, orange being closest to the bike's own factory colour. On a bigger-engined bike like the FC 450, checking that both screws still turn evenly is worth doing slightly more often than on a smaller machine putting less load through the same parts.

Dialling in Tension for the Big Class

A 450-class four-stroke puts enough torque through the rear wheel that a chain set even slightly too loose can be felt as a faint clunk on hard acceleration, something a smaller, less powerful bike might never reveal under the same conditions. Getting tension right on both sides, not just close enough, matters more here because the bike is unforgiving about small mistakes in a way gentler machines are not. An adjusting screw built into each block makes it straightforward to set both sides to the same mark and check the result with the engine's full power rather than discovering a problem only once the bike is already moving hard. Riders moving up from a smaller Husqvarna to the FC 450 often find this is one of the first things they notice feels different, simply because the bike makes mistakes in this area more obvious.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's own list restricts the RCM1 to the FC 450 built across 2014 and 2015, matching the window covered by the bike's other axle block option. The same two seasons apply to a long run of related Husqvarna and KTM off-road models built on this swingarm, including the smaller FC 250 and FC 350. For riders who would rather leave tension to the stock method, the RTM1 fits this same bike without the built-in screw.

Road Approval

No German ABE is on file for the RCM1, so Accossato lists it for off-road and competition use rather than for use on public roads.
