DescriptionThe whole story▼
A plug that no longer tightens down firmly at the oil filler is an easy way to end up with a weep down the side of the 450SX-F's case after a top-up. Accossato's TOR02 closes that opening across this bike's 2007-to-2015 build, taking the place of the standard-fit plug once it's rounded off or lost its grip.
Key Features
- Oil filler plug for the KTM 450SX-F, 2007 to 2015
- Accossato code TOR02, closes the oil filler opening
- Available in orange or blue
- Same part also listed for the Husqvarna FC 250, KTM 250EXC-F and KTM 350SX-F, among others
- Accossato also offers a front brake and clutch cover, crankcase plugs and oil filter covers for this bike
- No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition riding
Construction and Material Quality
This plug closes the 450SX-F's oil filler opening in place of the factory part; the same code is also listed for the Husqvarna FC 250 and the KTM 250EXC-F and 350SX-F, among others, as shown below. The choice between orange and blue is cosmetic only. A plug that no longer resists turning, or shows obvious rounding from past use of the wrong tool, has stopped doing its job properly.
A Plug That Sees a Lot of Oil Changes
Frequent oil changes on a bike raced through a full season put this plug through more wear and tear than almost any fastener on the engine besides the filter cover itself. A team mechanic working to a tight schedule between motos benefits from having a couple of these plugs already in the toolbox rather than discovering mid-session that the old one has stopped holding torque. That small bit of preparation is cheap compared with the time lost chasing a leak later.
Fitment and Compatibility
The 450SX-F's 2007-to-2015 build is named on the TOR02's own application sheet. A garage running the Husqvarna FC 250 alongside this bike, or the KTM 250EXC-F or 350SX-F, will find the identical plug listed for those too, part of a wider family built around the same filler opening, so one spare does for more than one machine. Confirming the build year against that list before ordering is still worth doing.
Road Approval
No German ABE is on file for the TOR02, so Accossato lists it for off-road and competition use rather than for use on public roads.
