Function
This one measures 39 mm, 12 mm, 7 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. Ordering the small parts with the seal kit saves the second delivery that most rebuilds otherwise need. A wrong washer under an adjuster changes the click range without anyone noticing why. Circlips are single-use in practice: once sprung, they no longer hold their groove reliably.
Genuine Service Part
Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not.
Getting the Number Right
05449-03 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. Öhlins states inner diameter 39 mm, outer diameter 12 mm, length 7 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. A wrong washer under an adjuster changes the click range without anyone noticing why. Spacers set the internal geometry of the unit, which means their length is a specification and not a filler.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.
