Static seals and dynamic seals are not interchangeable even in the same size. A ring that has taken a set no longer springs back and starts to weep under pressure. Cross-section is as important as diameter: an O-ring that is too thin will not seal at pressure.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue.

Identifying the Right Part

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 00438-05 in this case. Check inner diameter 70 mm, cross section 2 mm, material FKM 70 against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Static seals and dynamic seals are not interchangeable even in the same size. A seal that has taken a set no longer springs back and starts to weep.

Fitting and Setup Service

We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00438-05

Category: O-Rings

Inner Diameter: 70 mm

Cross Section: 2 mm

Material: FKM 70

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00438-05_d85d2e36-eebf-4799-aab5-0d3a40865feb.png?v=1788869368
