DescriptionThe whole story▼
The K-Tech DDS Pro rear shock absorber delivers a level of chassis composure that transforms the Kawasaki ZX-10R and ZX-10RR from 2021 through 2026 into a machine you can exploit all day without compromise. Developed to the exacting standards demanded by British Superbike and the Isle of Man TT, it brings genuine works-grade suspension engineering to the road and track rider who refuses to settle.
Key Features
- Five-way adjustability — compression, rebound, BPV low-speed, hydraulic preload and length — gives a complete and precise setup for every rider, track or road condition
- ByPass Valve (BPV) adjustment with 16 clicks dials in low-shaft-speed damping for improved tyre feedback and consistent grip off the throttle
- 32-click compression adjustment and 32-click rebound adjustment allow fine, repeatable damping changes without disturbing the base setup
- Hydraulic spring preload adjustment requires no tools and lets you respond instantly to changing loads or track conditions between sessions
- Length adjustment enables precise geometry tuning — ride height, steering weight and corner entry can all be dialled in to suit the circuit or the rider
- CNC-machined high-end components throughout for maximum structural integrity and long service life under race conditions
- DDS technology with integrated potentiometer mounting points for data-logging compatibility
- Wide range of spring rates available in the 55–155 series for personalised setup across rider weights and riding styles
- Race-proven in top-level professional competition including the British Superbike Championship and the Isle of Man TT
Build Quality and Technology
Every DDS Pro unit is constructed from CNC-machined billet components, eliminating the tolerance variation that undermines consistency in cast or pressed parts. The 35 mm damper body and 12 mm shaft are sized for the loads imposed by a litre-class superbike, while the DDS (Dual Damping System) internals separate low- and high-speed damping circuits with a clarity that makes setup changes immediately and predictably felt at the tyre. The ByPass Valve circuit is particularly effective on variable road surfaces or bumpy track sections, where it controls small-amplitude shaft movements independently so the main compression circuit can remain optimised for hard braking and heavy corner loading.
Road and Track Use
Installing the DDS Pro does not simply sharpen the ZX-10R/RR for circuit work — it makes the chassis more communicative and less fatiguing in every environment. The hydraulic preload adjuster means a solo commute and a two-up weekend run can each be set correctly in seconds. On track, the combination of 32-click compression and rebound ranges with the additional BPV circuit gives an experienced suspension technician or a self-tuning rider the resolution to eliminate understeer and brake instability without resorting to compromise settings. Part number 255-021-150-020 is a direct-fit item for the 2021–2026 model years.
Fitment and Compatibility
This shock absorber is a direct replacement fitment for the following motorcycles:
- Kawasaki ZX-10R (2021–2026)
- Kawasaki ZX-10RR (2021–2026)
Upper and lower mounting eyes are machined to the correct OEM bolt diameter and eye width for a bolt-in installation. For maximum safety and performance, fitting by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre using specialist tools is strongly recommended.
