A Universal Clamp
One mounting pattern for the original master cylinder and for the radial units people fit later. It removes the commonest ordering mistake in this category rather than documenting it.
What Ducati Quotes
The complete block, because the switches are moulded into it during manufacture. On a ten-year-old motorcycle that figure is usually what starts the search for an alternative.
Anodising Is Electrochemical
The colour is grown into the top few microns of the metal in a bath rather than sprayed onto it. Nothing sits on the surface, so nothing can lift from an edge.
Read Through a Glove
Machined edges and a firm detent tell a rider that an input registered. A moulded shell that flexes slightly under a thumb absorbs part of exactly that signal.

Thirty-Five Horsepower in One Step
Moving from the air-cooled 1100 to the liquid-cooled 1198 was the largest single jump the Monster ever made, and Ducati managed it while keeping the bike recognisable from fifty metres.
A Subframe You Can Reconfigure
Seat height and tail arrangement both change on the 1200. It is a rare piece of accommodation from a company that usually expects the rider to adapt instead.

Sport, Touring and Urban with genuinely different delivery. The Monster was among the first nakeds to make the idea something other than a line on a brochure.
Twenty-One Years of Trellis
By 2014 the Monster had been built around a steel frame hung from the cylinder heads since 1993. Ducati kept the idea through the move to liquid cooling and only abandoned it in 2021.
