Legends That Fade
Printed markings on a moulded shell give up after a few summers. On a naked bike the block sits in direct sun all day and the process is faster than it is behind a fairing.
Temperature Swings
No bodywork means the cockpit heats and cools faster and further than on a faired bike. Plastics creep under that cycling and machined aluminium is unaffected by it.
Clips and 208 Horsepower
The vibration of a V4 works on snap fittings across years. The two halves stop holding each other tightly and the block develops movement that cannot be adjusted out.
Colour With Thickness
Anodising is measured in microns and is part of the metal. On a naked bike whose cockpit is visible from three metres away, that matters more than it does elsewhere.
Twenty Minutes to Reverse
Nothing spliced. The standard block goes back on before a sale, which on a motorcycle modified as often as a Streetfighter is worth keeping simple.
Four Finishes
Black, red, titanium and copper. On a bike with this much visible hardware, the copper option is the one that gets noticed and it is not for everybody.
Twenty-Eight Kilograms of Downforce
Ducati quotes that figure for the biplane winglets at 270 kilometres an hour. On a motorcycle with nothing else holding the front wheel down, it is not a styling exercise.
A Hundred and Seventy-Eight Kilograms
Dry, with 208 horsepower and handlebars. Nothing about the combination is sensible and that is precisely why the model exists.
Where the Air Comes From
Removing the fairing meant feeding the V4 through openings beside the headstock. It is one of several places where the Streetfighter is a genuine redesign rather than an unbolting.
