The JP ACC KT016 reduces the sweep between closed and wide open on the 990RC R, which is the movement a rider makes most often and thinks about least.

A Faired KTM
KTM put clip-ons and bodywork on the middleweight twin, which drops the wrists and changes the throttle geometry completely compared with the naked version.
A Track Argument First
The case is strongest where the throttle is opened and closed hard and often. On a long motorway run the shorter sweep is simply a different habit.
Which Tool
Whatever reads the engine controller on that model. A dealer does it in minutes; an owner with the right interface does it on the bench.
Fitting Order
Bar end, grip, switchgear, then the assembly. Reassembly is the reverse and the only awkward moment is threading the connector back where it came from.
Off Road
Standing on the pegs changes the wrist angle completely, and a sensitive throttle is harder to meter on a loose surface than on tarmac.
Superbikes
Clip-ons already place the wrist low, and a long standard sweep on top of that is what forces the hand to shuffle mid-corner.
The Part Nobody Reads About
The reset. It appears in one line of the manufacturer's own description and it is the single most important sentence in it.
Cut Rather Than Moulded
The internal profile converting rotation into sensor movement is the entire part. Moulded, it is made to a tolerance and widens where it runs. Machined, it holds the ratio it was drawn with for the life of the motorcycle, which is what the price difference buys.
Handguards
Wraparound protection on the adventure models needs its clearance checked. The new body is a similar size to the original rather than an identical one, and the difference shows up at full lock rather than on the bench.
