The Awkward Middle That Works
Racing organisers have never quite known where to put the 750. It is too fast for supersport and too slow for superbike, which has left it in open classes and track-day groups where it is frequently the quickest thing that is not a litre bike. Owners seem entirely content with that.
A Cockpit Reduced to Essentials
The road controls come off with the lights. What remains is a smaller set of larger buttons, spaced so that the thumb can distinguish them at speed without the eyes leaving the circuit. On a bike ridden at ten tenths that is the whole purpose.
Standard Wiring
Unlike a superbike switch, this one needs no racing harness and no aftermarket dashboard. It plugs into the motorcycle's own connector and the standard ECU handles it, which makes the conversion a straightforward afternoon rather than a winter project.
Why Milled Matters on a Track Bike
The original assembly is two mouldings clipped around the bar. Vibration, heat cycling and pressure washing all work on that joint, and the buttons across it feel it first. A single machined body removes the failure point rather than reinforcing it.
Sealed Contacts
Track motorcycles are cleaned hot, often with a jet, and stored damp in a van. The elements inside this housing are sealed units, which is a more relevant durability property than anything to do with the alloy.
Crash Economics
Over a season of track use the relevant question is not what a part costs but how often it has to be bought. A milled Ergal housing scuffs where a moulded one cracks at the clamp, and that difference shows up in the parts bill rather than in any single incident.
