DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 049 blanks the 776 cc twin's PAIR ports on the GSX-8S with a plate machined from solid aluminium.
Key Features
- Suzuki GSX-8S (2023–2025)
- Blanks the PAIR ports in the cylinder head
- Machined from solid aluminium
- Sealed with an O-ring, no gasket cement
- Uses the original fastener positions
- Fully reversible to standard
A Two-Cylinder Head
Two ports rather than four, which makes the blank smaller and the job quicker than on the older fours. The principle is identical.
What Sits There Now
A reed housing and a hose to the airbox. It admits air into the exhaust ports whenever pressure drops, which is on every closed throttle.
A New Engine, an Old System
Suzuki designed the 776 cc twin from nothing in 2023 and still fitted secondary air, because Euro 5 makes it the cheapest way to reach the numbers.
The 270 Degree Crank
Uneven firing gives the twin the pulse of a ninety degree V and two balancer shafts keep it civil. It is the reason the 8S does not feel like a commuter engine.
O-Ring Sealed
A turned groove holds the ring against a machined face. No paper gasket, no sealant and nothing to scrape when it comes apart again.
On the Overrun
Injected air finishes burning unspent fuel in the header, which is where the popping comes from. Blanking the ports removes the cause rather than masking it.
Three Model Years
The fitment covers 2023 to 2025. The platform is recent and Suzuki has not revised the head arrangement.
The Electrical Half
The ECU tests its solenoid independently. Only the electrical eliminator prevents the fault appearing on the display.
Type Approval
The system forms part of the bike's approval and removing it ends road legality in Europe. This is a competition part.
Reversible
The standard housing refits on its own fasteners with no new parts required.
Shared Across the Range
Suzuki developed one engine and built three motorcycles around it, which is how a company this size competes with rivals several times larger. It also means a part proven on one of them is proven on all three.
