The JP ES 010 takes the Super Duke R's air injection solenoid out of the circuit without a stored fault.

Air Injection
Fresh air into the exhaust ports on a closed throttle, so unspent fuel finishes burning there. It is an emissions measure and it costs nothing in power.
Why It Warns
The controller tests the solenoid winding electrically. A removed valve gives the same reading as a broken wire and the display says so.
Emulated Properly
The expected resistance is presented rather than the pins bridged. One produces silence, the other produces a different warning.
The Beast
KTM's own name for it, and for once the marketing was accurate. The Super Duke R has defined the naked class since it arrived.
A Hundred and Eighty Horsepower
In a chassis with wide bars and no fairing. It is not a sensible motorcycle and nobody buys one expecting it to be.
Ten Model Years
KTM revised the frame, the electronics and the bodywork repeatedly without touching the air injection layout. One part covers all of it.
The Crackle
Combustion in the header on a trailing throttle, amplified by every aftermarket exhaust ever fitted to one of these. The air is the cause.
Before the Dyno
Unmetered air after the cylinder corrupts gas analysis, and a Super Duke sees more dyno time than most motorcycles.
Only the Electrical Side
The reed assembly remains on the head until the cover replaces it. The two halves are separate parts.
Homologation
Removing emissions equipment ends road legality in every European market.
Rebuilt Three Times
KTM redrew the frame in 2020 and again for the 1390, each time chasing less weight and more feedback. The engine architecture and the peripheral electrics carried over largely untouched, which is why one part number spans a decade of very different motorcycles.
