The JP ES 007 lets the Multistrada V2S run without its secondary air solenoid and without the warning that normally follows the moment the connector is pulled apart.

Cornering Lights
Auxiliary lamps firing progressively with lean angle, filling in the inside of a bend that a fixed beam leaves dark. On an unlit road they are transformative.
The Secondary Air Valve
An electrically opened solenoid feeds filtered air into the exhaust ports on a shut throttle, so mixture that escaped the cylinder finishes burning in the header rather than leaving the pipe.
A V4 Sounds Different Again
Four closely spaced pulses fill the header continuously, and the crackle sits on top of an already busy note. It is quieter in character and no less present.
Nothing Is Cut
No wire is severed and no connector modified, which is the property that makes the change reversible and worth insisting on.
Where the Time Goes
Fifteen minutes to get the bodywork off carefully, two minutes to swap the connector, fifteen minutes to put everything back. The ratio is typical.
A Ducati Performance Catalogue
The factory sells racing exhausts and mapping through its own accessory programme, which is unusual and means owners modify with a certain confidence.
A Sealed Body
The eliminator is potted rather than open, so the connector stays as protected from water as it was with the original valve fitted.
Legal Position, Stated Plainly
In markets where the secondary air system forms part of the motorcycle's type approval, removing it takes the machine out of road-legal specification until the original parts are back on. That is a matter of local law rather than of engineering, and the reversibility of the part is precisely what makes complying with it straightforward when the time comes.
The Connector's Locking Tab
Ducati's plugs latch and the latch does not always release where a gloved thumb expects it to. Levering at the wrong point breaks the tab, and a connector with a broken tab has to be replaced rather than persuaded. Looking at the plug before pulling on it is the whole of the technique.
