The JP KS YA013 is the keyless ignition switch for the R6: no barrel, no key and no steering lock, on a machine that has no use for any of them.

The Race Kit Version
Machines running Yamaha's kit harness arrange the ignition side differently, and fitting the road part to one of them does not work.
Cut From Solid
Ergal machined rather than moulded, which is why the body survives the knocks a top yoke collects over a season of being wheeled about.
Twenty Minutes
The work is short once the tank or the cover above the loom is out of the way. What varies between models is the access, not the job.

A bike without a steering lock is easier to move. That is a genuine consideration for anybody storing a machine outside a locked workshop.

It stops the wrong person riding away and it satisfies the registration rules. Both purposes disappear the moment a motorcycle stops being used on roads.

A few models carry a separate number for the American specification, because the ignition circuit there is arranged differently.

Twenty minutes at the yoke plus whatever it takes to reach the loom. On some models the connector is visible as soon as the block lifts away.
What It Is Not
It is not a security device, not a performance part and not a road modification. It removes a lock that a trailered motorcycle has no use for and takes some weight off the worst place on the chassis to be carrying it.
