Rough Idle After Filling
A saturated bed pushes liquid fuel into the intake as soon as the purge valve opens, which is why the problem is worst immediately after a fill.
Cold Weather Starting
A soaked bed is worst in winter, when the engine is least willing and the extra fuel reaching the intake is least welcome.
Not Every Market Has One
Triumph fits evaporative control where regulations demand it, so an imported machine may have none of this plumbing. Five minutes under the tank settles the question before anything is ordered.
Look Before You Buy the Kit
Not every machine in every market carries the assembly. Lifting the seat and following the hoses takes five minutes and prevents an unnecessary order.
Two Halves of the Job
The tank needs somewhere to breathe and the controller needs an answer on the purge circuit. A kit that supplies only one of those leaves a complaint behind, which is why both are included.
A Component Older Than Its Bike
Canisters are made to a price and fitted at the start of a long production run. On a late example the design may already be a decade old.
