DescriptionThe whole story▼
The upper panel of the tank, with the aperture for the filler cap already cut. It is the single largest piece of carbon offered for this machine.
Key Features
- Sits over the steel tank; tank, cap and breather untouched
- 245 Twill weave, autoclave-cured
- Filler aperture cut to the factory outline
- Reuses every original fastener
- YZF-R9 from model year 2025
Seen From the Saddle and From Outside
Most carbon on a supersport rewards the owner only when they walk around the bike. This panel is different, because the rider looks straight down at it every kilometre of every ride, and anyone standing beside the machine sees it too.
On a model released in 2025 that counts double. An R9 in a car park still looks like every other R9, and of the handful of parts that change that, this is the one that does the most.
Deal With Spills Straight Away
Petrol will not eat through a cured clear coat, but left to evaporate on the surface it can leave a dulled ring, usually right where the nozzle drips at the cap seal. A cloth kept under the seat solves it.
Fitment and Compatibility
Yamaha YZF-R9, model years 2025 to 2026, with the original tank and filler cap.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part.
Fitting
Check the breather and any drain routing behind the cover before the last fastener. Nothing about this part changes the tank, and nothing about fitting it should.
