DescriptionThe whole story▼
The belly pan closes the underside of the motorcycle between the lower fairing edges, below the engine and ahead of the rear wheel. On a faired superbike it is the largest single piece of bodywork nobody photographs, and it is the one that has to survive everything the front wheel throws backwards.
Key Features
- Belly pan, direct replacement for the original moulding
- Available in both weaves: 200 Plain and 245 Twill
- Autoclave-cured laminate across the widest unsupported span in the bodywork
- Original mounting points and fasteners
- Designed to pair with the matching upper fairing cover set
Both Weaves on One Article
Most of the Fullsix BMW range is twill only. This belly pan is one of the exceptions, offered in 200 Plain as well, which makes it the article to look at if the rest of a build is plain weave and a twill panel would break the pattern.
Functionally there is nothing between them. Plain is a finer chequer that suits close inspection; twill is a coarser diagonal that reads from further away. On a panel this low and this large, twill is the one that actually shows.
Fitment and Compatibility
BMW S1000RR, model years 2015 and 2016 only. The 2017-2018 machines changed in this area despite looking similar, and the 2019 generation is entirely different.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Belly pans are subject to oil-retention rules at many track days, so check both the registration position and the organiser's regulations before use.
The Finish Nobody Sees Clean
This panel lives in road spray, chain fling and whatever the front tyre picks up. Clear coat here is a commitment to washing rather than a style choice, and it looks extraordinary only for as long as that commitment holds.
Raw is the honest recommendation: cheapest, no lacquer for grit to dull, and enough texture to hide the film a smooth surface displays. Matt is the next best answer for an owner who wants the underside to match darker bodywork above it.
