Water-repellent, not waterproof — and that is the right choice for a softshell. The three-layer build with a fleece backer traps warm air and sheds drizzle, but it breathes far better than a sealed shell. It is the jacket for a cold morning in the pit lane, not for standing in a downpour.

Softshell or rain jacket
If you expect steady rain, take the Corpo Rain Jacket instead — Akrapovic quotes a 10,000 mm water column for that one. This softshell is built for warmth and freedom of movement, with a surface that beads off spray and light rain. The two are not interchangeable.
Fit and sizing
XS to XXL are on the current list. The jacket is cut close enough to work as a mid-layer under a bigger coat but has enough shoulder room to be worn over a hoodie. Adjustable cuffs mean it also sits properly over gloves.
